You should always contact your health care provider for immunizations and other medical advice regarding international travel. Vaccination and other recommendations your health care provider may make are dependent on your itinerary, length of stay, and the type of travel that you will be doing. Giving your health care provider a detailed travel plan will help them give the best possible advice.
Do I need a vaccination to travel?
- Depending on your destination and travel itinerary, your health care provider may recommend that you get immunized against diseases which are not common in the United States. Some of these diseases are very dangerous.

Where can I go?
- Your health care provider or a travel immunization clinic may be able to provide you with the vaccinations recommended for the area to which you are traveling. In addition, your county health department may offer immunizations needed for travel to foreign countries where vaccine-preventable diseases are common.

Contact the Arizona Department of Insurance http://www.id.state.az.us/ for information on HMO coverage for vaccinations that are medically necessary for foreign travel.

The Arizona Immunization Program Office (AIPO) receives requests for yellow fever vaccination forms from 1) individuals seeking yellow fever vaccinations for international travel from a certified yellow fever immunization provider, and 2) physicians requesting certification from AIPO to administer yellow fever vaccinations.
