Architectural Reviews & Life Safety Code Inspections
The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) conducts architectural reviews to ensure new and renovated health care and child care facilities are built to applicable codes and standards.
Reviews are initiated through an application process and there is a separate fee involved for this critical step in the licensing process.
- Architectural Review Application

- Sprinkler Requirement for Long Term Care Facilities

- City/County Authority Clearance Form for Assisted Living Facilities

The ADHS conducts annual and periodic Life Safety Code inspections to ensure on-going compliance with applicable fire codes, environmental standards and safe utilization of facilities.
Visit the web site of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for read-only access to the NFPA codes and standards referenced in our state's statutes and/or regulations.
